WHAT'S THE PROBLEM?

  • Time/phase alignment
  • Finding an overall tuning curve that pleases the masses
  • Deciding whether to focus on the room or the rig.
  • Consistent, verifiable results

What are the results?

What people say about me

JS Cote

Compositeur et concepteur sonore

I really like Nathan's approach, which is very methodical. He's always striving to find the best way to approach a problem and explains his process very well. I always enjoy discussing designs with him, I always come out with new ideas.

Nathan's course is a fantastic step-by-step walkthrough of system design and tuning that is super practical. If you're daunted by all of the decisions that go into system optimization, this is a great way to break it down into a methodical process that will help you create more consistency in the quality of your shows and address systemic issues on a systemic level instead of fighting your PA on every channel in the mix!

PROCESS

How will we do it?

  • Lesson 1 - Build your audio analyzer
  • Lesson 2 - Get good data
  • Lesson 3 - Ground-plane measurements
  • Lesson 4 - EQ
  • Lesson 5 - Crossover alignment
  • Lesson 6 - Create your spec sheet and user guide

WHY HASN'T THIS WORKED BEFORE?

Maybe you've tried to get started with an audio analyzer before, but just weren't able to get satisfying results. Maybe you've even taken another workshop or training and felt like it didn't go anywhere.

Why will this be different?

One of the biggest problems with adult education is the lack of time to explore and practice. You sit in a room for three days, feel confused, then get home and do nothing.

This course provides a flexible framework for you to grow. You still have to do the hard work and carve out time in your schedule to practice, but I'll be there to help you during our group and private coaching. You'll have multiple opportunities to make mistakes, ask questions, and find solution.

By the end you'll have a clear path forward and much higher confidence with the audio analyzer.

WHAT AUDIO ANALYZER SOFTWARE WILL YOU COVER?

I will do most of the demos with REW since it seems that's what most of you are using, but the fundamentals we will be covering are cross platform.

HOW DO I KNOW YOU WON’T JUST REHASH VIDEOS I’VE SEEN FROM MANY OTHER SOURCES?

This will all be completely original content. There's nothing new under the sun and I'm confident everything we cover is available through other sources. The real value in a course like this is how the information is organized, the coaching, and the support of your peers.
